Food Rescue & Preservation Facility

A community-based facility that processes edible farm waste products

Through sustainable processing, the perishable products may be freeze-dried, dehydrated, or extracted to create value-added products

A community-based facility that processes edible farm waste products (blemished, unsold, or near end of shelf-life). Through sustainable processing, the perishable products may be freeze-dried, dehydrated, or extracted to create value-added products. These value-added products allow for perishable goods to be shelf-stable for +25 years. The priority outlet for these products will be Florida educational institutions, food banks, and food pantries.

This facility will also host educational events, R&D products (eco-friendly products, product development), and Secondary product developments (paper plates, compostable softgoods, and bioplastics). We hope to have locations throughout Florida in the near future. This facility will be solar-powered and energy-efficient.

It's time to make waste reduction a priority. Let's clean up the system together.

We don’t waste

“These value-added products allow for perishable goods to be shelf-stable for +25 years. The priority outlet for these products will be Florida educational institutions, food banks, and food pantries.”

Benefits

Healthy value-added products are estimated to reach $3.5 Million in gross sales. We estimate a $1,688,000 Yearly net return, that we will use for donations and future community agricultural projects. With an estimated total yearly return of $2,533,000 in value-added products to the community, we believe this is a valuable solution to achieving local food sovereignty.

Providing a nonprofit preservation facility that directly supports local agriculture and the health of our communities will also provide economical relief estimated at $845,000 per year for local farmers and their workforce while providing low-income and underserved communities equitable access to healthy foods.
